The plan[]

The DEW Line or Early Warning Line, was meant to detect Soviet aircraft flying over the Arctic from Siberia in to Canada, Alaska and the North Atlantic. The radars were located in Alaska, northern Canada, Newfoundland, Vancouver Island, Greenland, Iceland and the Faro Islands to cover all possible routes. The Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line operated in conjunction The Mid-Canada Line, and The Pinetree Line.

The Distant Early Warning Line/the DEW Line or Early Warning Line was made up of many radars, often in radomes.
