The International Lenin Peace Prize (Russian: международная Ленинская премия мира) was created in 1949 and officaly named after the Bolshevik leader and founder of the USSR, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, alias- "Lenin" in the 1950s.

Criteria for issuingEdit

It was awarded by an expert panel appointed by the Soviet government, to notable individuals whom the panel indicated had "strengthened peace among comrades".

A famous recipientEdit

  • Tôn Đức Thắng, the second president of North Vietnam.
